SFSRF2009Instructors Message

Dear friends/instructors.
The stage is set for the great weekend. I thank you all again for co-creating this extraordinary event with me. We have been getting lots of support from everywhere. It reminds me of the saying “if you build it they will come” and they are coming my friends.
I have a few reminders:
1. Please be on time for your workshops.
2. Make your classes as fun as possible. That is what people remember the most about a class.
3. Mostly work with the majority of the people in the workshop. Do not focus your workshop on trying to help one or two people catch up or stay afloat. Unless your class only has one or two people.
4. At the Friday dance, we will do one or two songs, as I said before, where all, or most, of the instructors will take turns doing a turn or two at a time. If you do not have a partner then and still would like to do it, then ask someone you know in the audience that can do the turn. It does not have to be a sophisticated turn. Just a turn you like and think the audience will enjoy it. When a couple, instructor and partner, is on the dance floor, the rest will simply form a semi circle behind and do something like basic steps. Then when everyone has gone twice we will all go on the dance floor and rip it. Think o fit as a thank you gesture to all the participants of the festival, a way to say thank you. As always you can opt out of. Simply let me know.
5. Saturday afternoon, after the festival is over, I would like to invite all the instructors for a late lunch at the Flying Star café on the SF Railyard, on me.
6. Sunday morning I would like to invite all the instructors for breakfast, New Mexico style at the Pantry Restaurant. Also on me.
7. I am trying to put something together where we can dance Saturday night. If nothing occurs, then we can all go and dance either at El Dorado Hotel or in Albuquerque.
Thank you all for everything and I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
